The course of the meeting

The second youth parliament session within the project Clicking with Voters took place in Cracow, in the Frist High School, Plac na Groblach 9. The subject of the meeting included the role and meaning of the European Union in the development of the Young people and a spread genesis of its creation and the current shape.

The meeting was started from playing the game entitled Peasant School of Business. It is an economic board game inspired by history of enterprising artisans from the 18th century center of Andrychow. The game is a simple simulation of economic activity for 12-30 participants. The game shows in an attractive way the mechanisms of the free market economy, it promotes entrepreneurial attitude, develops social skills of the players and fantastically integrates the group. The publisher of the game is Malopolska Institute of Culture. In our case we used the game to display in what way and what for is the European Union functioning.

After playing the game a short break was organized, after which an exact part of debate began. As part of the debate, we addressed the issue of economic cooperation, conflict on Ukraine. A lot of emotions awoke the subject of migrants and refugees. The leader of the debate tried to describe on a simple way the difference between them and visualize the problem in the broadest context. The participants of the debate largely hid from the participants of the first project, making it possible to stir more advanced issues.
