Social Youth Development(K.A.NE) as partner in the ”Clicking with voters” projetc had to organise before the Euro-elctions of 25 of May 2019, 3 events/debates as it was discussed and set up in the 2nd meeting of the project in Krakow. In the events/debates the target group was: first time voters and in general young people who have the right to vote.
The aim of the events/debates was to discuss and analyze with the young participants about active citizenship and further to motivate them to vote on the elections.
This way, the second event that K.A.NE organised in cooperation with the youth centre of Kalamata, in order to achieve the above aim, was a high school visit at the youth centre of Kalamata. In more details, students(first time voters) from the high school of Arfara visited the youth centre of Kalamata in order to learn more about the youth centre as well as to participate in some activities related to the topic of the project.
More spesifically, students were explained by the local volunteers of the youth centre about this structure which is 100% connected with active citizenship. After this introduction, students participated in some non formal education activities. Through them they discovered more about the importance of keep being active as citizen and the importance of voting in each election prodedure. All the discussions and activities that took place encouraged the students and left the youth centre having learned new things and motivated to use their right to vote on the upcoming elections.
