[GR] Local Youth Parliament Session #2

Social Youth Development(K.A.NE) as partner in the ”Clicking with voters” projetc had to organise before the Euro-elctions of 25 of May 2019, 3 events/debates as it was discussed and set up in the 2nd meeting of the project in Krakow. In the events/debates the target group was: first time voters and in general young people who have the right to vote.

The aim of the events/debates was to discuss and analyze with the young participants about active citizenship and further to motivate them to vote on the elections.

This way, one of the events/debates that K.A.NE organized was the implementation of a Secondary Education curriculum in the high school of Messini. In more details, this curriculum was approved by the ministry of education and through it K.A.NE had access in high schools and had the chance to implement it. The curriculum was connected to environment and through special organized activities(based on non formal education), aimed to educate the students in enviromental issues, to raise awareness and to make them realise that if they are active they can portect the environment and influence more and more citizens(active citizenship).

All the above respond on the aims of the curriculum as well as on the aims of the Clicking with voters porject as through the evaluations that the students filled in at the end of the curriculum, it seemed that they were motivated compared to the past in order to start participating in the protection of the environment and to start being more active in the society they live.
