The activities were carried out following the planning. We had the support from Eurocircle from the volunteer Jack.
Ideas and opinions appeared during the session:
- Meeting days among the inhabitants of each neighborhood with the purpose to clean together and install composters
- Create a Facebook group « the green hand » to get awareness about the environment subject in Marseille.
- Organizing appetizers bio at work and promoting ecologists actions during the work activities (less paper, doing recycle, days to go to walk and do urban agriculture)
- Increase the European budget for the environment
- In general, the participants considered the city of Marseille as a city full of green spaces. However, the cohesion between those ones and the city is considerable.
- They believed the publics funds are employed to maintain properly the central neighborhoods, forgetting about those ones far away.
- Furthermore, they argued concerning the deplorable situation of garbage around the city is due to an educative problem, linked to a poor innovation policy in terms of environment in Marseille.
- They would like to pedestrianize the city center; put in place more bike stations around the whole city.
Additionally, they would like to improve the wastewater disposal situation (maybe through a largest wastewater treatment plant); improve the situation of garbage cans and waste sorting in the city; impose gas cruise ships; bring street furniture to green the streets; promote ecological residences (bring plastic bottles back to magazines); to boost the current condition of garbage cans and waste differentiation around the city; to enforce gas cruise ships; to facilitate the conditions to have green streets; to promote ecologies residences.
Suggestions coming up from participants concerning the event:
- All the participants confirmed to have improved their knowledge and comprehension of the currently situation of the environment.
- The whole group hold that the information received were totally clear and comprehensible.
- They were satisfied with the material given to them.
- -n the same line, they uphold to have a general knowledge of the project « clicking with voters » and the international campaign «#cettefoisjevote ».
- Additionally, they have found the methodology employed accurate to the session.
- Likewise, they were satisfied with the work done by the youth workers during the session.
- Finally, the participants would like to increase their engagement at the local level in Marseille.
- They remain worry about the role of Europe coming to the subject of environment and the actions emerged by the Europeans citizens.
- The participants had also clarified doubts concerning the nearby elections, the local actions in terms of environment and the state of the environment in the city.
