The Youth Parliament Session was organized as a presentation done by young people who attended the training course in Krakow. The presentation was followed by a discussion based on the questions of the participants. The YP session was organized in the Univerisy in town in order to assure access to all people interested in the subjects to be didcussed.
The main conclusions and recommendation the participants made during the Agora include as follows:
- There is a lot of unnecessary bureaucracy, the laws are not sensitive to the citizens’ needs and many people are ignorant of the terms and conditions, rights and obligations which entails plenty of problems such as mounting pressure, widespread dissatisfaction or complete indifference to the social issues.
- The most growing fear of the world’s population are the attacks on religious grounds. This is, as well, inducing a feeling of foreboding for the leading authorities of the European Union. The insurance of citizen’s safety against the terrorist actions was not sufficient enough, thus a few attacks on the territory of the EU were available.
- The Union should provide sustainable economic condition and what is more – sustainable and friendly relationships between the countries members. The attacks has been turning these relationships into a combat for survival. Thus, on the grounds of the terrorist attacks, the most challenging mission for the European Union is to preserve what was achieved for so many years under the heated condition in Europe.
- Currently the majority of young people move to cities and many small villages are left only with people over 65 years old. This causes a serious imbalance between the socio-economic developments in different parts of the same country. Young people should be offered workplaces and opportunities to develop within the borders of their birthplaces – in this way they will not be obliged to move to bigger cities and to abandon their home land
